Andy Green already holds the World Land Speed Record at 763 mph. In 2013 he's going to be driving a new British record car, the Bloodhound SSC. Powered by a jet and a rocket motor (which uses an 800 hp Formula 1 engine just to run the pump...), this Car is going to cover 12 miles in just 2 minutes and peak at over 1000 mph (yes, you read that right - one thousand mph!).
