1967 Honda S800 Convertible
| June 8, 2007
Purchased in 1968 while I was serving with the US Navy in Guam M.I., this S800 was a daily driver for many years, but ultimately wound up in "storage" in our garage. In 2005. we decided to restore it to it's former island-cruising glory, and finally got it back on the road in May of this year.
With 70hp @ 8000rpm, it develops 87.5bhp/liter from its 791cc dohc aluminum 4 cylinder water cooled engine. A curb weight of only 1694lbs will allow it to approach, and occasionally top, 100mph. The S800 has 66700 actual miles on its original, but rebuilt engine, and all other parts (except the 12v battery and seat belts) are either original or genuine Honda spares.
There are several good web sights providing more information on the S-Series of Honda cars.
