It was a childhood dream of mine to convert a Scenicruiser to a motor home. I never thought it would ever happen due to cost and Greyhound took them out of service in th 70's when I was about 10 years old. We were foster parents looking for a way to take a family of 9 camping and to travel, I found this advertised in a local paper
for a very reasonable price(you wouldn't believe me if I told you how much). We worked on it for 4 years before as we could afford to. We made our maiden voyage July 4th 2006, and have made several trips since. The engine is a Detroit 8v-71 with a Spicer 4 speed standard gearbox (soon to have a Fuller Road Ranger 9spd). It has 10 11R22.5 tires, air ride suspension, power steering, a Kohler 6.5kw generator and three rood A/C units. All of my kids and my wife have helped and we continue to work on it as a family. I have recently been told I have Multiple Sclerosis and losing my vision, I hope to take a little road trip to Alaska while I can still drive (funds are limited because I can no longer hold a job), if we don't make it I can say I have fulfilled one amazing dream.
Thanks, Brad Vandrhoff
