1965 Honda S600 Roadster (with optional hardtop)
| September 15, 2007
Purchased in 1981, I am the fourth owner of this car. I began its body off frame restoration in 1986 and completed it in 1992. Its aluminum, in-line four cylinder, 606 cc, dohc, liquid-cooled engine is slanted at a 45° degree. The crankshaft is supported on three roller bearings, and it breathes through 4 Kei Hin side draft carburetors. With a redline of 9,500 rpm, it produces 57 horspower @ 8,500 rpm, and maximum torque of 37.6 lbs.ft. @ 5,500 rpm. The car also features a rather unique chain final drive, whereby the chain cases serve double duty by acting as trailing arms and giving the car independent rear suspension .
I have a club and website dedicated to these fine automobiles and their relatives at http://hondasportsregistry.com/ Every year since 1992 our club has held its annual meeting on Labor Day weekend at my shop in Middletown, New York. You can see one of our recently restored cars at http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_garage/cars/4320.shtml
Additionally, you will soon see Jay's own Honda S600 on this website that I have had the privilege of helping him restore.
Please check out my other Hondas, and thanks for looking!
