1969 Dodge Mr. Norm's 4 speed Hemi Super Bee
| December 30, 2007
I saved this car from being scraped 26 years ago.
My friend called me to help him scrap the car. He bought the car to remove the 383 that was in it at the time. I noticed it had a Dana 60 rear end. Dana's were not available with a 383. I looked the car over and seen someone cut the mounts off of the K-frame and relocated them for a big block. Then I looked at the VIN tag!! It was an original 4 speed Hemi Super Bee. I told my friend and he didn't believe me because it said 383 on the hood. So we decided to scrap the car at my house!! After sitting on the car for several years. Giving it to my brother and getting it back. I found out the car was sold by Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge. I contacted the Mr. Norm's web site. They still had the Original Invoice!!
I finished restoring the car in time for the 2007 Detroit Autorama. The car won first in class.
