1966 Lincoln Batmobile Replica
| November 14, 2006
This beautiful replica is based on the Batmobile from the 1966 television series. If you thought the Batmobile was great in the movies, it’s astounding in real life. It is nearly 20 feet long and 7 feet wide, and it is completely functional and driveable.
The chassis is a 1979 Lincoln Town Car that has been reinforced to support the completely hand-built fiberglass body. It is powered by a 460 cubic inch Ford motor and has a high performance aluminum radiator with duel 12 inch fans to keep the engine nice and cool.
The car comes equipped with a Mallory ignition, fully functional headlights, brake lights, and tail lights, the beacon and several warning lights, the batbeam antenna, and a working, flame-throwing, "turbine" exhaust.
Inside the car is a working polished aluminum roll top dashboard, equipped with a DVD and CD player with a 7" LCD screen, plenty of batgadgets, the Remote Bat Computer Switch, and the Batphone. A working 1958 Edsel speedometer sits on the dash to finish off the fun.
